Southern Fresh has a rich history rooted in generations of expertise in horticulture. With a strong historical relationship in retail and wholesale partnerships through Southern Fresh Foods and Burwood Nurseries, Freeda was established with the sole purpose of helping florists to grow, with access to proven systems for produce management, trend tracking and working in partnership with resellers of their products.

Our main family farm, Burwood Nurseries, has over 40 years of experience in growing premium cut flowers, continuing a legacy built on passion and care.

Sourcing flowers from overseas nurseries allows florists to access unique varieties that enhance their offerings. Our innovative preservation methods ensure that every bloom arrives fresh and vibrant, extending their life and beauty.
Our nurseries in Malaysia are managed directly by Southern Fresh’s horticultural team and we apply the same strict quality controls to all our products grown overseas as we do to our local partners.
Stock is checked both during the growing term throughout each stage, then carefully prepared for dispatch overseas and assessed again on arrival in New Zealand.
We apply a gurarantee of quality to all our Freeda Products and offer a full replacement should products arrive in a condition that does not meet our high standards for whatever reason. So you can order with confidence that products will always arrive fresh and ready for your stunning bouquets.

We perform due diligence on our growers to verify their practices. This guarantees that we source from reputable suppliers committed to quality.
Trial Runs
We conduct trial runs to assess the quality and longevity of the flowers. This step is crucial to ensure our florists receive only the best.
Final Approval
After three months of careful monitoring, we approve the flowers for dispatch. This ensures that every bloom meets our high standards.
